Join Project Literacy for Tutors
Volunteer to become a tutor today.
Just 60-90 minutes of time each week is needed to change someone's life. We need volunteers to work one-on-one as tutors helping with reading, writing, or math at a mutually agreed upon location once a week. Our staff will guide you through the necessary steps to become a tutor by providing 15 hours of training and ongoing support. We then match you with a student.
Our tutors have varied backgrounds, not necessarily in education. One thing all of our tutors have is the desire to "give back" because someone they know was illiterate or was an immigrant feeling alone in the country. All of our tutors report they "get more out of tutoring" than they ever could have imagined.
